Here’s one I thought you all might enjoy. It’s a video for the song “Misfit” by the Bumblebeez and directed by the Australian creative collective Glue Society. Fun music, fun costumes, fun video.
Once again I must admit total ignorance to the existence of this group. I stumbled on them while poking through some Glue Society stuff.
I did do a bit of homework after finding it however (thanks Wikipedia and the internet). With the wacky and convoluted past of this group it is no wonder I had not heard of them before. Okay, that is just a justification for my, at times, shockingly unconnected nature.
The Bumblebeez are an Australian group initially formed by Chris Colonna and his sister Pia Colonna. They started by mashing up hip hop and rock tracks and mixed in their own vocals. From the Wiki entry I gather there has been a lot of turmoil, artistic and record company drama, and rotating group of band members over the years. I am guessing the wackiness is more than a little purposeful adding a certain deranged mystique. Gotta heart those artistic types. Love ’em! 🙂

The “Misfit – Shape the World” video features some amazingly bizarre and wonderful costumes created by Matt Stegh, Justin Shoulder and Marty Jay. The music reportedly was constructed primarily on Chris Colonna’s Nintendo DSi handheld.

I had to watch it a second time, because I didn’t realize until the yarn that he was actually glomming onto and transforming into each of his obstacles.
