Stumbled across a video today of Australian artist Buff Diss doing his thing. His thing is creating playful graffiti style street art with masking and electrical tape.
With the city as his canvas Buff’s art is confounding authorities since it comes right off easily with just a pull of the tape and it no way permanently affects the object it is placed on. This confusion, a kind of communication itself, is an aspect of his work that he takes great joy in. He says his art as a kind of conversation with the spaces where they are located and says he could spend the rest of his life leaving art in the rooms of derelict warehouses.
Unique and refreshing I think this is one to watch.

Beautiful, beautiful – long have I strove, striven and indeed strived to reconcile my affection for outlaw art that truly beautifies what it mars, with my understanding that while such beauty is subjective, the crestfallen sadness of a business or property owner upon seeing their building or grounds damaged is not. I am above all against specious justifications of trespass – even for a noble or greater cause, it’s kind of f’d up for you to superimpose your cause over someone else’s life and tiny province.
