To celebrate fall…and the new season of The Walking Dead tonight…I thought I’d take a trip down retro snacking lane. I’m making some Chex Party Mix.

Yeah, I would be too if I wasn’t the one about to enjoy this little bit of hot and salty heaven.
Oh, and just for the record there will be no new-fangled microwaves involved. This snack mix is being made the RIGHT way…the way God intended…in the oven.
And to set the proper mood here’s one of the earliest mentions of Chex Party Mix in a 1952 Chex cereal ad in Life Magazine.
