This is an oldie-but-a-goodie that may make your brain hurt a wee bit.
Count up all the “F”s in the following sentence:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS
What did you get? How many are there?
Did you count three?
If so try again. Apparently the brain doesn’t normally perceive the “F”s in the word “OF”. So the majority of people count three “F”s the first time through. Some people come up with four. Rarely do you have someone who gets six the first time.
