My mother tells this story about taking me to the Washington Zoo when I was little. Apparently even then I had an affinity for elephants and I was excited to see them.
Once we got to the elephant enclosure my mother looked away for just a moment and when she looked back I was climbing over the first barrier heading into the enclosure to see the elephants. My mother grabbed me in time and after she got over the panic she asked me what in the world I thought I was doing. My answer? “Well mom, the elephants were smiling at me.”
I still think the elephants are smiling at me. In face there are quite a few animals that I have this impression of. Here are just seven of them for your viewing pleasure. Starting, of course, with the good old elephant.

Can I buy a copy of the picture of the smiling elephant
Hi Joy,
I wish I could say I knew who the photographer was so you could purchase a copy. I did some digging around and couldn’t find him or her. I will keep looking and I promise if I find a place to purchase a copy I will leave the info here in a comment for you.
In the meantime I do know where you can get some really neat elephant photos. Go take a look at this blog entry http://www.skyblue-pink.com/?p=3278 and if you like the poster go check it and others out at the Ashes and Snow site here: http://www.ashesandsnow.org/en/info/index.php?module=page&idpage=0&idcategory=13
