How in the world did I get to be this age and NOT know this doggie fact? Why didn’t somebody TELL me??
I’m almost embarrassed to admit it. But apparently not quite embarrassed enough since I am revealing it here for all to see.
I’m going to blame it on the fact that I grew up in a generally big dog household. (But for the sake of honesty and transparency I feel compelled to share that we did once in fact own a Yorkshire Terrier. But he was oversized…a veritable giant for his breed…so maybe he doesn’t count.)
Some small dogs have heads so heavy as pupsters that they literally do handstands while trying to eat.
For those of you who have been in the dark like me and who might have a hard time believing this I have proof (thank goodness for YouTube).

But don’t worry according to the ever-helpful YouTube commenters this occurrence is not at all uncommon in small dogs with big heads. They soon grow into their heads just perfectly fine thank you very much.
